Mr Croak is an element from the Spam Tale collage Fonzy Hustles. He was a black and white work originally displayed within the exhibition 2 @ Wunderkammer. He has since been hand coloured for sale at the Black Market.

The Black Market is an alternative culture market featuring crafts, art and bric-a-brac. I will be sharing a stall with my housemate who has knitted goods.

We will be called  
The Dormouse and The Meerkat.

There will be Black Market Specials on my artworks, dropped from their previous gallery/Wunderkammer prices. Prices start from $30.

What is a Spam Tale?

Spam Tales is a series of collages. The wording for each collage is composed of spam email subjects and senders, collected over a period of months. They are written out on paper, and re-written or cut out and shuffled about until there something resembling cohesiveness, and an engaging mini story/spiel. Some collages incorporate the word recognition anti-spam mechanism for posting on Facebook. Spam and anti-spam word combinations have been chosen for their random, nonsense quality.

The juxtaposition of modern technology and turn of the century or Victorian imagery, paired with some very weird wording leads to pleasingly Surreal results. Most of the Spam Tales read like advertising spiels and the artist does not shy away from that fact. She enjoys perusing Victorian advertising and feels that some of the extravagant claims made back then are not so different to those made now in Spam.

Craftsmanship Ox was created while Spam Tales: Craftsmanship Ox, Erasmus Howard was a work in progress.  liked this collage so much I felt it was worthy of, and effective in, another composition

 and well suited to Avant Card's post card format. It's the most complicated, non-texture* collage I have done to date in terms of the number of actual pieces that are assembled and layered (twenty two parts), 

as well as the number of original image sources used (five different books).
