What's On, coverage in The Age

In Melbourne's The Age, newspaper, from The Arts section, What's On Today column under Visual Arts
'A CABINET of curiosities - or
Wunderkammer - is an array of
fascinating specimens of natural
science preserved in glass canisters,
fossils, medical instruments,
engravings and skulls. It's
appropriate then that artist Patricia
Denis, who is exhibiting in the
Wunderkammer store, should
turn to the ephemeral quality
of nature for inspiration for her
collages, assemblages and
sculptures. Like surrealist Max
Ernst much of Denis' imagery
comes from nineteenth-
century engravings that are
then combined to create
fantastic tableaux.
